Tartan, a plaid wool fabric originating for Scotland, was typically used for kilts and each criss-crossed pattern was associated to a clan. Brought back in the spotlight by top designers, tartan is unquestionably one of the most important trends this season!
Invading the runways during the fall-winter 2013-2014 collection shows, it was not long before we noticed celebrities adopting the style. From schoolgirl look to grunge inspired style, XXL coats and classic blazers, this traditional print was revitalized by the high-fashion creators which immediately inspired the ready-to-wear labels.

It is now time for you to choose your clan! You prefer the classic style? Opt for a jacket or a pencil skirt, in muted shades that you can easily wear to the office by coordinating with simple monochromatic items. In addition, the jacket paired with jeans is just the right outfit when going out with friends. If, on the contrary, you want a more edgy look, go for a pair of pants or a coat and why not choose brighter colours!

Accessories are also an interesting option allowing you to follow the trend without spending all your money. Whether you choose a pair of shoes, a handbag or just a scarf, adding an accessory with a tartan print will convey a Celtic touch to your outfit!
